San Jose State punter Michael Carrizosa is fifth in the nation this fall in punting at 44.9 yards.
A finalist last year for the Ray Guy Award, given to the NCAA’s best punter, the junior has punted a career high 53 times for 2,381 yards. Three of the four punters in front of Carrizosa have punted for fewer yards.
A former kicker and punter at Palma, Carrizosa was a walk on three years ago at San Jose State, and has been one of the nations best punters in the last two years.
