CSUMB women's hoops

CSU-Monterey Bay
It's early. But three consecutive home wins has created expectations for the Otters, who won just five games at the Kelp Bed last season.
A cast of unheralded names is evolving into one in terms of cohesiveness and chemistry, averaging 67 points a game.
A little local flavor never hurts when it comes to creating attention and Seaside High grad Victoria Dorn has provided that, averaging a team high 14.6 points through five games.
The 5-foot-6 Dorn is shooting over 50 percent from beyond the 3-point arc this season for the Otters. Last year she shot 32 percent from the 3-point line.
Dorn has paid her dues throughout her collegiate career, having missed her first season after tearing her knee, never losing her passion for the game or that drive to improve herself.
Complimenting Dorn inside is 5-foot-11 McKenna Hill, who is dropping in 10.2 points and just under 10 rebounds a night for CSUMB.
Junior college transfer Aubri Smith has made an immediate impact at the point, leading the team in assists while averaging 10.4 points a game.
What pops out during this three-game run is the Otters have scored 80 or more points twice, a mark they haven't attained in two years.
