  Unlike last season when a loss to Carmel snowballed into a five-game losing streak, the Pirates are coming off arguably their biggest win in 15 years at Pacific Grove.
 Stevenson erased a 14-point deficit behind four touchdown passes from Casey Mornhinweg, who has 16 on the season, three off his school record total of 19 achieved last year.
 While Will Lansbury is Mornhinweg's favorite target, it does not hurt that one of his other options is his freshman brother Dakota, who has 20 catches this fall.
 Looking to snap a five-game home losing streak, King City has given up six touchdowns through the air. It's also intercepted five passes, four from Tommy Stephens.
 The Mustangs also bring a pass rush with Devante Anderson and Abel Nava coming off the edges.
 For all the offensive numbers the Pirates have put up with their aerial attack, it has been their defense that has clamped down, holding Pacific Grove scoreless after the first quarter last week.
 Anchored by Alexander Meredith and Haydon Gordon, Stevenson's defense has allowed 27 points in its three wins.
 King City has struggled in the fourth quarter offensively, scoring just one touchdown. Last week the ground game finished with minus 10 yards, including a critical fourth quarter fumble.
 While the Mustangs would like to establish the ground game, Stevenson makes it no secret it's going to air it out. King City may have no choice but to follow suit.
