Alisal-Monterey football

Friday's game
Alisal (0-6) at Monterey (2-3), 7:30 p.m.
An offense that couldn't get out of its own shadow in its first three games has produced 79 points in its last two for Monterey.
Head coach Dan Brown has got his players on the same page as the Toreadores have outscored their last two opponents 52-0 in the first half.
Bishop Ward is coming off a 159 yard, two touchdown rushing effort on the ground last week for the Toreadores, taking some of the pressure off sophomore quarterback Evans Charles.
Charles threw for 148 yards and three touchdowns last week for Monterey, with 85 of those yards going to receiver Marcus Dorn Jr., who has a touchdown catch in all five games.
Alisal can't seem to turn that corner, having failed to hold leads in each of its last two games, and three of the last four.
The second half has been a struggle for the Trojans offense, having scored just three touchdowns all season.
Defensively, Monterey has forced seven turnovers, with Isaiah Jones intercepting two passes and Marcos Ruiz recording 3 1/2 sacks.
