Jack Powers

After two years as a backup offensive lineman at Arizona State, Jack Powers has made the transition to defensive end for the University of Virginia.
Powers, who gave up his scholarship at Arizona State and walked away from the game for a year, transferred this fall to Virginia and switched to defensive end.
In six games -- one start -- the 6-foot-5, 280-pound Palma product has nine tackles, including a sack. Powers has also used his size to get up and break up three passes.
Powers was a three-year starter at Palma on both sides of the ball, helping the team to a Central Coast Section Division IV title in 2012.
