Hartnell cross country

Barring a collapse, the Panthers are headed for their seventh straight Coast Conference men's team title today at Crystal Springs in Belmont.
The meet was originally slated to be held at Toro Park, but the recent fire near Big Sur kept Toro closed for nearly three months.
Hartnell, who is ranked No. 6 in the state, became the first program in Northern California in eight years to beat American River College earlier this year.
Sophomore distance ace Edgar Bonilla will be the heavy favorite to repeat as conference champion. Only two other Hartnell runners have won back-to-back titles in Daniel Tapia and Enrique Lopez.
Bonilla, who placed ninth last year at the state championships, is undefeated in his last three major invitationals.
Hartnell, who is ranked No. 2 in Northern California behind American River, could put five runners in the top 10, including Alvarez product Jorge Sanchez and North County alum Oscar Mora.
The women, who were second in the state last year as a team, are chasing their fourth straight Coast Conference crown.
Yevette Felix has been one of the top runners in the conference all season. The Panthers depth will be critical in defending their title.
