Soquel-Carmel boys polo

During its run of prominence over the last two decades, just one team has been able to beat Soquel at least once in each of the last four years.
Carmel has been a thorn in the Knights side, earning a share of the Gabilan Division title twice after beating them in the league tournament.
The two powers will square off tonight at 6 p.m. when the Padres look to knock visiting Soquel from the unbeaten ranks in the Gabilan.
Ironically, Carmel, who sits just a game back at 5-1, has beaten the Knights just once at home, that coming in 2013.
A look back at the past shows that these battles have been tight, as five of the previous seven games have been decided by three goals or less -- including two one goal decisions.
Carmel, which is averaging nearly 15 goals a match in league play, has relied on a balanced attack, spearheaded by Kevan Auger, Parker Fisher and Max House.
As young as the Padres are in terms of experience, they've grown up fast, having already knocked off defending champion Santa Cruz.
Senior Carter Whitaker has been sensational between the pipes all season for Carmel. He will be asked to slow down a Soquel unit that has four of its top five scorers back from last year.
