Monte Vista-Salinas volleyball

No one is talking about Monte Vista.
 But we should.
The Mustangs are 8-1 this fall, with that one loss coming from defending Gabilan Division champion San Benito by a 2-1 result in a tournament.
So is Monte Vista ready to climb into the upper echelon of the Gabilan?
We'll find out tonight when it travels to Salinas in an early season statement match.
Up until last year, the Cowboys had captured four consecutive league titles and six of the last seven, reaching the State Division I finals in 2009.
Salinas has one of the more powerful hitters in the area in Taylor Rose. Complimenting her at the net has been Kathleen Bass and Sam Shaffer, all feeding off sets from Kamryn Sutton.
It's no secret where the ball is headed for Monte Vista as Sjea Anderson has compiled over 100 kills this fall. The 5-foot-10 senior also has nearly 100 digs.
Seven of the Mustangs eight wins this fall have been sweeps.
