Soledad-Alisal football

Friday's game
Soledad (0-2) at Alisal (0-3), 7:30 p.m.
Both these teams are too talented to be winless much longer.
Failing to hold a lead late in the fourth quarter last week after scoring 18 straight points left Alisal numb.
How does it respond to adversity this week?
The reigning Mission Trail Athletic League tri-champion Aztecs are struggling offensively, having yet to score in the second half this year.
A run-first philosophy, Soledad is averaging just 2.8 yards each time it runs the ball, forcing the defense to spend a lot of time on the field.
As a result, three players are on pace for over 100 tackles for Soledad, including Andrew Hernandez, who had 19 in a loss to Salinas.
Alisal has had its moments offensively, such as JC Maravillo darting 81 yards for a touchdown two weeks ago against Alvarez.
It just hasn't been consistent. A turnover late in the fourth quarter last week in the red zone kept them from putting the game on ice. One play later, Alisal was trailing.
