Projected volleyball finishes

Monterey Bay League
Gabilan Division
1. San Benito: Four starters are back, including two all-leaguers at the net.
2. Salinas: A program that will continue to improve as the season progresses.
3. Notre Dame: The Spirits will make another run at a CCS Division V title.
4. Monte Vista: Unbeatable in the preseason, a darkhorse in the Gabilan Division
5. Monterey: One of the best defensive teams that plays on emotion and pride.
6. Christopher: Coming off a 20 win season, wins won't come as easily in the Gabilan.
7. Alvarez: Winning the Pacific Division earned a second tour of duty in the Gabilan.

Pacific Division
1. North Salinas: The Vikings haven't been to the postseason in five years.
2. Watsonville: Looking to rebound from a one win season in the Gabilan last fall.
3. Seaside: An athletic team learning the game on the fly.
4. Alisal: Came out of nowhere last fall to win 18 matches.
5. Pajaro Valley: A sleeper team in the Pacific Division this season.
6. Gilroy: Is just 5-28 over the last three seasons.
7. North County: Growing pains continue for a program in transition.

Mission Trail Athletic League
1. Santa Catalina: Might be the class of the CCS in Division V this fall.
2. Carmel: One of the most dynamic players in the MTAL is Megan Gonzalez.
3. King City: Has been a thorn in league opponents' side for 33 years.
4. Gonzales: Reigning league MVP Deja McCrimmon resides in Gonzales.
5. Soledad: Has had just one winning season in its 17 year existence.
6. Stevenson: Still waiting to see the Pirates play a match.
7. Pacific Grove: Rebuilding a program doesn't happen overnight.
8. Anzar: Struggled for an identity in the preseason.
