Alisal-Watsonville football

Friday's game
Alisal (0-5) at Watsonville (2-3), 7:30 p.m.
The Wildcats are a program you don't want to overlook.
In its last two games, Watsonville has outscored its opponents 84-21. Prior to that, two of its three losses were by a combined five points.
Matthew Barceló and Daniel Olivarez have both gone over 100 yards rushing in a game this season at least once. The pair are on pace to rush for a combined 1,700 yards.
The Trojans have given up over 300 yards on the ground three times this year. They have also given up five touchdown runs of 40 yards or longer.
Alisal has either lead or been tied at some point in four of its five losses. The second half has been an Achilles heel as it has been held scoreless three times. Turnovers have been backbreaking.
The Wildcatz went into last week's game averaging four passes a game, throwing one pass in a win over Soquel. Time consuming drives on the ground keep a defense fresh.
These teams have split their last two meetings. The last time Watsonville won three straight games in the same season, it won a league title in 2009.
Dating back to last year, the Wildcatz have won three straight Pacific Division games.
