North County-Alvarez football

Friday's game
North County (0-0) at Alvarez (0-0), 7:30 p.m.
Ironically this will be the home field for both teams this season as the Condors will play their home games at Alvarez while their field is being renovated.
The Eagles have won the last three meetings between the two schools. Prior to that, the Condors had rattled off seven straight wins.
Owners of three straight postseason appearances, the Eagles are going through renovations of their own with their offensive and defensive schemes under new coach Brad Mendes.
The transition and philosophy changes will be on-the-job training for Alvarez, who was just 1-5 at home last season.
Sean Gomes dealt with a similar situation last season in his return to North County. The result saw them outscored 138-20 in their first four games, including 38-13 to Alvarez.
While the Condors were one of the lowest scoring teams in the county last year, the defense allowed just 43 points in their four wins.
Alvarez is revamping its defense after giving up 236 points in its final five games last season. Alan Llamas and his team leading six sacks are back along with Michael Ramirez.
