Joey Burlison earned his third top-five finish this summer among national golf tournaments, placing fourth at the American Junior Golf Association tournament at Vista Valley Country Club in Vista.
The Palma junior was medalist over the final 18 holes with a 67. His round included a hole in one. Over 48 holes, Burlison carded a 74-72-67. The field included elite golfers from five other countries.
Last spring as a sophomore, Burlison was the Gabilan Division’s Most Valuable Player and placed at the CIF state championships.
