Hartnell cross country

Runner-ups last year at the state championships, the Panthers women's cross country team will get reacquainted with state champion Glendale and third place College of Canyons Friday in the Oxnard Invitational.
The reigning Coast Conference and Northern California champions have just one distance ace back from last years state team in Anzar graduate Yvette Felix.
Hartnell did land two dynamic freshmen in Yvette Tavarez, who went to the CIF state finals last year for Soledad, and Leslie Oseguera, who led Monterey to a Pacific Division team title.
Five sophomores are back from last years men's conference title team, including King City grad Edgar Bonilla, who was ninth in the state for Hartnell as a freshman, earning All-American honors.
Bonilla will be joined by Alvarez alum Jorge Sanchez and former North County standout Oscar Mora, both of which earned all Northern California honors last season.
A healthy Eduardo Orozco is back for his sophomore year, and will be joined by incoming freshman Christian Aldape of North Salinas and Salinas grad Jonathan Saldana.
Hartnell will be chasing a sixth straight men's team title.
