On the heels of a school record 47.5 yards per punt last fall at San Jose State, the former Palma product will begin his junior year as one of the nations top punters.
Carrizosa, who trimmed 30 pounds before last season, also set a school record for net punting average at 42.42, improving his punting average 10.4 yards from his freshman to sophomore seasons.
A second team All-American punter last fall, Carrizosa was a finalist for the Ray Guy award, given to the nations top punter. A former walk-on at San Jose State, Carrizosa was named the Mountain West Special Teams Player of Year.
