Helping fill the void of three-time 1,000 yard tailback Akili Jones will be Ward, who showed flashes of his potential in limited duty last season for Monterey.
Ward displayed his speed and instincts as a kickoff returner last fall, running one back 88 yards for a touchdown against San Benito. He also rushed for a touchdown against Salinas.
