Seaside baseball

If you want to look for a team to watch next spring, do not underestimate what the Spartans have accomplished this year.
 Sure, a 6-18 record isn't glamorous.
That doesn't mean strides weren't taken this year. Learning how to win was Seaside's Achilles heel.
The Spartans were just 1-7 in games decided by one run.
Reverse that and they're a contender.
Seven starters will be back next year to make amends and resurrect this program, including Tristian Beza, who has driven in a team high 25 runs.
Sophomore Daniel Sayre leads the team in hits and has tossed seven complete games this spring for the Spartans while freshman Roderick Gaskins has a big upside.
Seaside also has to find a way to win on the road, as it was just 2-10 this year.
You can make the argument that seniors Case Fisher and Jimmy Peters have laid the groundwork for the future of this program with their willingness to battle through the adversity of youth.
