CSUMB baseball

Dropping three of their final four California Collegiate Athletic Association games forced the Otters to share the north conference title.
It's a new season today for CSUMB, as it opens the CCAA tournament seeded No. 3, facing No. 4 seed and south conference runner-up UC San Diego at 7 p.m. in Stockton.
The Otters, who are 1-4 in two previous CCAA tournaments appearances, took two of three from UC San Diego back in April at home.
CSUMB leads the conference in home runs (45), setting a school record in the process. It was second in runs scored (336) and runs batted in (304).
Hayden Duer broke teammate Kevin Davidson's single-season home run record with 11, ripping two in the final week of the season.
Davidson, who has 10 home runs and is hitting .313, leads the team in runs batted in with 46, while Bryan Bostjancic is hitting a team high .349.
The Otters and UC San Diego met in the tournament last year with the Tritons posting a 5-2 win. The 32 overall wins this year for CSUMB ties the second best mark in school history.
