Henry Blaul will go into today's Central Coast Section swimming prelims the favorite in two events to advance to the state meet for York School.
The sophomore, who won a pair of Mission Trail Athletic League titles last Saturday, has the fastest times in the 200 individual medley (1:51.09) and 100 breaststroke (56.97).
Last year as a freshman, Blaul was 11th in the CCS finals in the 200 IM and 18th in the 100 breast. The 15-year-old is nearly four seconds faster in both events this spring.

Clark will go into Friday's prelims ranked 14th in the section at 48.34. Last year he was seventh in the 100 free at the section finals and sixth in the 50 free (21.40).
MTAL diving champion Jack Maughan of Carmel goes into the section finals ranked fifth overall after recording an All-American score of 438.60. Teammate Jeanpaul Ditto is ranked ninth.
