Palma's reward for winning the Gabilan Division title was a No. 2 seed and a meeting with No. 15 Mitty today at 4 p.m.
While the Chieftains have rattled off nine straight wins going into the playoffs, they have dropped their last eight games to teams from the West Catholic Athletic League.
Palma and the Monarchs have not faced each other since 2010, with Mitty shutting them out 8-0.
