Catalina-Hillsdale softball

Central Coast Section Division III
Saturday's game
No. 9 Santa Catalina (15-6) vs. No. 1 Hillsdale (20-7) at Hawes Field, Redwood City, noon.
The Cougars are a dangerous team right now, having rattled off six straight wins, with two of those decisions coming against league champions by a combine score of 13-1.
Tatumn Satow, who hadn't pitched since her freshman year, has filled a need since being summoned to the circle because of an injury to four-year starter Lauren Garcia.
The Cal bound infielder has not let it effect her effort at the plate, as Satow has 18 extra base hits and shares the team lead in runs batted in with Marissa Bruno with 28.
In arguably two of its biggest wins of the year in knocking off Carmel and Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League champion Scotts Valley in the first round, the Cougars didn't make an error.
Hillsdale is seeded No. 1 for a reason. It won the Peninsula Bay Division behind Eryn McCoy, who has 18 wins and sports a 1.33 earned run average.
McCoy, who has 171 strikeouts in 147 innings, is reportedly headed to nationally ranked Oregon next year. The Fighting Knights have also won their last six games.
