Six Panthers to Eastern New Mexico

Six members of the Hartnell College track and field team have earned athletic scholarships to Eastern New Mexico.
Among them are Alisal graduates Maria Rodriguez and Cynthia Tovar.
Rodriguez, a member of the Panthers second place state cross country team, has already qualified for the regionals in track this spring in the 1,500 and 5,000.
Tovar, who has only been running for two years, is among the all-time leaders at Hartnell in both the 3,000 steeplechase and 10,000 meters.
Joining the pair next year will include North County alum Nancy Rodriguez, who is ranked third in the state in the 3,000 steeplechase and has also qualified for the state finals in the 5,000.
Former Anzar distance ace Christian Monroy was also awarded a scholarship along with Watsonville graduates Lizette Garcia and Tito Chaidez.
