Palma-Monterey baseball

Now would be a good time for the Toreadores to regroup in their bid to get back into the Gabilan Division title race.
A fifth loss in league play would all but eliminate Monterey from title contention.
Just one team among the four leagues in the tri-region has won a league title with five or more losses in the last 15 years -- ironically coming last year when San Benito was 12-6.
While a two decade run of making the postseason does not appear in jeopardy, a Monterey win could certainly move four teams to within two games of each other.
Michael Gutierrez and Josh Zanger have formed a solid rotation for first place Palma while swinging hot bats as well.
Zanger could get the start today against a Monterey lineup that includes Arizona State bound Carter Aldrete, who has seven doubles among his team leading 18 hits.
Matthew Wright and Jordan Crisp have been productive at the plate for the Toreadores while Ryan Moreno has kept them in every game he has pitched.
