State girls wrestling

Returning to the CIF State wrestling championships today in Visalia for Jenna Garcia is a reminder of what didn't happen last season for the Notre Dame junior.
A controversial decision by an official in the semifinals in the third period - a match she clearly had in control - cost her the match and a shot at the state title.
Garcia settled for fourth place at 126 pounds, losing her only two matches of the season in the state finals, injuring her shoulder in a battle for third place.
The two-time reigning Central Coast Section champion is back on the big stage, eager to make amends, as Garcia will go into the event ranked No. 2 overall at 126 pounds.
Garcia won't be alone as three of her training teammates from Alvarez will be on the mats, including CCS champion Citaly Lopez.
Lopez was a winner at 189 pounds at the section finals while Alondra Paredes (111) and Brooke Lacuata (116) were runner-ups, qualifying for state for the second straight year.
Joining Lopez-- who is in her first year of wrestling -- in the 189 pound division is Monterey's Annjoeli Oleata. The pair meant in the CCS finals.
Returning to the state meet for North County is Delilah Houck, who will compete at 121 pounds after placing second at the section finals.
Alisal's Maura Camargo also qualified at 150 pounds
