North Salinas-Salinas boys hoops

If there are two people that know about the history of this once huge rivalry, it's the two coaches Alan Green and Jens Gordon.
Both played in the North Salinas-Salinas rivalry game when gyms were at capacity, when both were athletes at North Salinas.
Gordon sports purple now as the Cowboys coach, where the former German professional basketball player is trying to find that magic that catapulted them to the CCS DI finals last year.
North Salinas is back in the postseason after going 6-6 in the Pacific Division, while Salinas used a 7-5 non-league record to earn a spot in the Division I playoffs.
After enduring a stretch of five straight games decided by two points or less, the Cowboys stumbled in the final week with a pair of lopsided losses.
North Salinas, meanwhile, went on the road and won its last two games to get to .500 to petition to get an invitation.
Joshuah Torres has been the heart of the Vikings most of the season with Rico Vega coming on in the second half.
It's been a scoring by committee approach at Salinas with six different players leading the team in scoring this year, including Tim Harper and Jacob Franks.
With neither team showcasing a lot of size, look for the tempo to be fast and aggressive, meaning the team that takes better care of the ball could extend its season
