At least two teams are going to come out of the Mission Trail Athletic League for the playoffs.
Put Marina into the mix.
Yes, Marina.
The Mariners are one of four teams in the MTAL sitting in second place in the loss column with two heading into today's game with King City.
Since dropping a pair of one-goal decisions to defending champion Soledad and King City, Marina is unbeaten in its last four games, playing unbeaten Carmel to a draw on the road.
Both of Marina's losses in league play have come on the road.
Of course, the road is where the Mariners have played almost all of their games since the program was put together five years ago.
However, the Mariners have hosted two games this year in Marina, outscoring two opponents 8-1 behind sniper Ernie Guevara.
This program is capable of making a second half run in the MTAL, having allowed just two goals in the first half all season.
