Greenfield boys hoops

There may not be a better story this winter than the resurgence of the Bruins, a program that was winless last year -- 0-21 with virtually the same cast of characters on the court today.
Greenfield took its lumps. Growing pains were expected with such a young group. No one, however,  expected to go winless.
You can make an argument that it's fueled the Bruins, who have nine wins this season. Or, perhaps this team just believes in each other.
This is a lunch pale group that doesn't stop working.
Frankie Pacheco and Sabian Jackson have been double-double machines in big games this winter while Andrew Villagomez has dropped 45 3-point goals and is averaging nearly 14 points a game.
Add guard Rafa Santibanez into the mix and Greenfield has four players averaging around 10 points a game. Guess what? Three of them will be back next season.
The biggest difference is the Bruins have more than doubled last year's entire point total. In fact they  are averaging 17 points more a game this season in Mission Trail Athletic League play.
While beating Soledad was a confidence builder, defeating Stevenson -- a State Northern California Division V qualifier last year -- was a signature win for a program on the rise.
