Trinity boys hoops

You had to wonder if Trinity bit off more than it could handle.
A program looking to take the next step, scheduled a preseason that quite frankly didn't go well.
The Warriors were winless in eight games, with six of those losses being by 10 or more points.
Yet, if their confidence was shaken, it hasn't shown up in the Coastal Athletic League.
Trinity is undefeated, having knocked off reigning two-time league champion Oakwood -- who had rattled off 22 straight league wins dating back to 2014 -- on Tuesday.
There was a purpose to the preseason.
Head coach Pat Costa didn't measure wins as much as progress. Trinity lost one game by four points, another by three. It faced a league champion and a team that went to the Nor Cal playoffs.
Improvement came in how the Warriors handled adversity as a team.
 No one panicked
Now they're reaping the rewards of being patient.
Guard Jamez Booker has given Trinity a playmaker that can score, dropping in 24 in the win over Oakwood. Tyler Swedberg and Shane Doughty are viable second options on the floor.
Remember, there are roughly 50 boys in the entire school. More than half of them are playing hoops this winter, providing potential and promise for a program on the rise.
