Palma-Monte Vista boys hoops

There are no pretenders at this stage of the season.
Nevermind that Palma and Monte Vista are both undefeated in the Gabilan Division going into their showdown on Wednesday.
The teams combined overall record of 25-3 this winter gets your attention.
The first of two anticipated battles tips off Wednesday when the 12-1 Mustangs visit 13-2 Palma.
Monte Vista's lone setback came on Dec. 29 when it fell to Leland in a tournament.
The Chieftains have losses to St. Francis and Half Moon Bay, having avenged the loss to Half Moon Bay in winning the Santa Cruz Warriors Tournament last month.
CSU-East Bay bound Wyatt Maker has been a double-double machine for Palma this season while Jamaree Bouyea has evolved into one of the premier players in the county.
The reigning Gabilan Division champion Chieftains, who have won 19 straight league games, have rolled their first three league opponents by an average of 21.3 points.
Monte Vista used a 19-0 run in the third quarter last week to turn a deficit into a seven-point win over North County. Ryan De Los Santos has been the Mustangs big gun.

Palma's loses were to two of the top teams in CCS (and they won in the second match-up against HMB). The St Francis team is a very good team in the state this year. Palma probably favored by 10-15 at least in this one. MVC loss by 15 to a Leland team Palma probably beats by 10+ MVC strength of schedule isn't close to what Palma had this season.
