North County-Alvarez girls hoops

A week into the Pacific Division season and only one team remains unbeaten in Alvarez.
The preseason favorite Condors will look to turn this into a five-team battle tonight, when they invade the 'Eagles Nest'.
The Eagles, who haven't won a league title since 1999, started off last season 2-0 before falling to North County.
Not that Alvarez needs a reminder, but two of their four league losses last year were handed out by North County. In fact, the Eagles have dropped their last four games to North County.
Deaysia Gamble, a member of last year's Herald All-County basketball team, has ignited the Eagles attack along with holdover Angelina Ruiz.
North County, who has lost three games by three points or less this year, including a 44-42 league loss to Alisal five days ago, has turned to Amanda Torrez for offensive production.
The junior guard leads the Condors in scoring while last year's leading scorer, Demelza Perez, has started to heat up. In addition, Cassady Healy has provided a spark beyond the 3-point arc.
