King City boys hoops

The core of this team has been together since the eighth grade.
A connection off the court has translated to success on it for the Mustangs.
Not only has King City already equaled last year's entire win total, but it has also put itself into title consideration as the midpoint of the Mission Trail Athletic League season nears.
The Mustangs sit just a game behind unbeaten Pacific Grove going into Wednesday's home battle with once-beaten Carmel.
King City has rattled off four straight wins since falling to Pacific Grove, including a road win last Friday at Stevenson -- arguably its biggest road win in eight years.
The Mustangs are a team that can win scoring 77 points one night, and 29 on another.
Point guard Jovany Garcia has carried the offense on the perimeter while 6-foot-4 Jarod Davis has  provided a presence in the paint after being hurt for part of last season.
Contributions are coming from different players each game. Addie Ramirez, Jacob Flores and David Ortiz have provided a spark on the perimeter along with Wacey Barrington and Tate Kelley inside.
If there is a concern for King City, it's that four of its five losses have come at home this year.
