North Salinas girls hoops

Who losses five players from two CCS title teams -- five players that had been in the program for  four years -- and doesn't skip a beat to open the season?
Perhaps suiting up in the powder blue uniforms at North Salinas is like putting on Superman's cap.
Because the three-time defending Gabilan Division champion Vikings -- the only Gabilan Division champion since the division was formed -- are 4-0 to open the season.
The one common thread is head coach Darren Jackson, who has missed the postseason once in 15 yeas at North Salinas.
Of course, it doesn't hurt having lone returning starter Jordan Enos running the point and dropping in jump shots for North Salinas.
But the cupboard was far from bare. Alissa Foster could have started for a lot of teams last year. The senior dropped in 20 points in a win over Westmont.
And while last year's seniors built this dynasty, Jackson has 10 players returning. And this season he has added three sophomores and a freshman to a team averaging 63.2 points a game.
