The Palma quarterback has been accepted to Stanford University, and has been asked to walk on to the nationally ranked Cardinal football team as a preferred walk-on.
That's different than a walk-on recruit, according to Palma coach Jeff Carnazzo.
The 6-foot-4 Richardson put himself in elite company this past fall, breaking Palma's single season and career records for passing yards, as well as the all-time touchdown record.
Richardson threw 39 career touchdown passes, and tied the single-season record of 20, set by current Chicago Bears quarterback David Fales.
Over the course of two years, Richardson threw for 4,309 yards. He played the last half of the year with a cast on his left (non-throwing) hand after breaking his thumb.
The Chieftains were 19-5 with two Gabilan Division titles with Richardson under center. Four of the five losses came from teams in the West Catholic Athletic League.
