A year after being removed from the San Jose State men’s basketball team, Frank Rogers has made amends.
And the former Salinas High standout is making up for lost time. The 6-foot-8 Rogers produced a career high 32 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in a consolation round win over Anchorage in the Great Alaska Shootout last weekend.
The senior, who played at Cabrillo College and the University of San Francisco before transferring to San Jose State in 2014, was 17-of-22 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Rogers is averaging a team high 13.8 points a game, 8.2 rebounds and 30.2 minutes a night for the Spartans.
He’s shooting 51 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from the 3-point line. He also leads San Jose State in block shots.
