1. Palma: Dangerous team if it can get healthy for the postseason.
2. Monte Vista: Only setback all year was to the team above them.
3. Salinas: It never feels good to have to think about a loss for two weeks.
4. San Benito: Focus turns to the postseason for the defending D1 champions.
5. Pacific Grove: MTAL champions have won 13 straight league games.
6. North Salinas: Champions of the Pacific Division.
7. Soledad: Might want to send Carmel a good luck note this week.
8. Carmel: Two straight games without a touchdown pass is unheard off.
9. Alvarez: Kept its playoff hopes alive with a season high 56 point eruption.
10. North County: Had its four-game winning streak stopped, and playoff hopes derailed.
On the bubble: Seaside, King City, Gonzales, Alisal.

If Riordan loses this week to St Francis, they will probably end up in Palma's bracket and Palma would have to go through them. Riordan is a very good team and could be the favorite but lost a close one to Bellarmine and was dominated by Valley Christian/ Riordan is dangerous. If Aptos doen't opt up, Valley Christian could wind up in D3 playoff as well. Live Oak is probably #2 or #3 seed and pretty good as well. The PAL Bay teams are decent (Sacred Heart Prep, Terra Nova and Burlingame) and Palma should be clear favorite if Martinez is bak and healthy, but of not this is going to be a very tough playoff bracket. This bracket could get two teams into the bowl play-in games.
Salinas and San Benito will have to go through the Bellsto get to a bowl playin game and coth teams will be underdogs to them and Milpitas. Only team with a reasonable shot at winning a championship and/or bowl play-in from a bowl eligible playoff is Palma. Small school playoff though looks to be very competitive this year. Those should be some competitive games.
