Marcus Washington III put on a show as expected for Kings Academy.
Covossay Windham put on a better one for the Padres.
The knee is sound and the 225-pound junior is making up for lost time.
Windham piled up 297 yards on 32 carries Saturday, rushing for six touchdowns. Did we mention he also tossed an 18-yard touchdown pass in the Padres 50-47 decision?
It's not the 297 rushing yards that gets your attention as much as it was Windham's 9.5 yard average each time he touched the football.
Oh, and accounting for seven touchdowns.
Yet, where Windham made his biggest statement came in the fourth quarter when he dominated the drive with the aid of his offensive line, scoring the eventual game-winning touchdown.
Then on the ensuing drive, Windham put Carmel on his back, helping run out the clock.
Kings Academy knew it was coming. And it couldn't stop him.
While Carmel coach Golden Anderson said Washington was as good as advertised, Windham stole the spotlight -- if for no other reason than the end result.
