Seaside-Gilroy football

Friday's game
Seaside (4-3) at Gilroy (2-4), 7:30 p.m.
The Spartans have had a knack for the dramatic, with two of their wins being by one and three points this year -- both come-from-behind wins.
The youth of this team has risen to the occasion of late as sophomore Malik Jeter has been a menace on defense while Demarcus Hawkins has given Seaside another option on offense.
While Seaside has kept its offense simple, it's worked as Keishawn Robinson is closing in on a 1,000 yard rushing season. Tempo is what has been preached of late in practice.
Controlling the ball has kept a tenacious Seaside defense fresh. In its four wins, it has given up 59 points. In its three losses, it has allowed 107.
Gilroy has struggled offensively this year, having been outscored 76-13 in the first quarter. It's also given up the most points in the Pacific Division this year.
