Seaside football

What a difference having a few players back in the lineup made for Seaside..
For the last two weeks, or since the emotional overtime thriller over Monterey,  the Spartans were  minus seven starting positions.
And it showed in lopsided losses to Scotts Valley and North County.
 Not everyone is back.
But enough were on the field for Seaside to get back on track, erupting for a season high 44 points in shutting out Pajaro Valley.
In its previous two games, the defense had given up 71 points.
In fact, the last time Seaside shut out an opponent was in 2013 -- a string that had reached 25 games.
Offensively, the Spartans are clearly a different team when Keishawn Robinson can run the ball, as the team is 3-0 when he rushes for over 100 yards, winless when he doesn't.
The timing couldn't be better for the Spartans, who are in the teeth of their Pacific Division schedule, as unbeaten Alisal awaits this Friday.
