San Benito-Salinas volleyball

Thursday's game
San Benito (19-3) at Salinas (7-12), 6:30 p.m.
The reigning four-time league champion Cowboys are not going to defend their crown this year.
That doesn't mean Salinas can't have an input in who does.
This is a different team than the one that was swept off the floor in Hollister back on Sept. 29.
The Cowboys have rattled off three straight wins, avenging an earlier season loss to Christopher on Tuesday.
Granted, no one has been able to stop the Balers, who are undefeated in league play and have 19 wins on the season.
Lauren Sabbatini and state meet qualifying miler Marisa Villegas have taken turns assaulting teams at the net, feeding off sets from Kieley Hoskins.
The Cowboys have found chemistry in the front row with setter Sofia Pagano spreading it around to  Taylor Rose, Sam Shaffer and Kathleen Bass.
This match, though, will come down to defense. The Balers have three players with over 200 digs, including Noel Chavarria.
