Carmel-Catalina girls polo

Thursday's game
Carmel (10-8) at Santa Catalina (8-6), 4 p.m.
While no longer in the same league, this is still a rivalry game, one that has redemption on the minds of the Padres, who have lost nine straight to the Cougars.
Santa Catalina held on for a 9-6 win in the teams first meeting on Sept. 22, as Ivy Armijo and Ana Spanos both scored three goals.
After winning just one game last season, Carmel has had a resurgence this year behind sniper Kelly Rice, posting a 10-8 overall record.
The Cougars have won four of their last five games in the Gabilan Division, with the only setback coming from unbeaten Soquel.
Chloe Barney leads the team in goals and assists for Santa Catalina while Spanos has recorded 50 steals.
Carmel has won three of its last four games behind goalie Sofia Supica, who has allowed four or fewer goals eight times.
