Salinas-Notre Dame volleyball

Tuesday's game
Salinas at Notre Dame, 6:30 p.m.
You can make the argument that snapping a seven-game losing streak to Salinas last fall spearheaded the Spirits, who rattled off six straight wins en route to a CCS Division V title.
Owners of four consecutive league titles, the Cowboys are still feeling the effects of trying to replace eight players from last year's title team.
Notre Dame is looking to rebound from a loss to San Benito, in which all four matches needed extra points to decide the outcome.
If trying to stop Nikki DeSerpa wasn't enough for the opposition, Kate Lathos has emerged as a force at the net for the Spirits, feeding off sets from Julia Scatini
Defense has been one of Notre Dame's strengths as Adeline Laughton is getting her hands on a lot of balls at the net while Mikeila Banda has tightened up the back row.
With just three seniors on the roster, Salinas has looked to its youth, where sophomore Taylor Rose has emerged along with Kathleen Bass and Sam Shaffer.
Three different players have led the Cowboys in set assists this year with Kailey Taylor coming off a 28 assist effort in the setters role.
Both teams have losses to unbeaten San Benito, state ranked Presentation and nationally ranked St. Francis.
