Pacific Grove football

With their 4-0 start in the Mission Trail Athletic League, the defending champion Breakers have won 11 straight league games dating back to 2014.
Yet, there's another streak that's growing each week.
Pacific Grove has won 15 straight regular season games against opponents from the Central Coast Section -- with its only regular season setbacks coming from Hilmar.
The Breakers have won games in a variety of ways this year, such as erupting for 60 in a non-league win over Fremont, then using a fourth quarter stop on a two-point conversation in a 7-6 win over Stevenson.
The is a dangerous team because it finds ways to win games.
The term 'team' has come to the forefront this fall. There isn't one player carrying the offense on his shoulders like we've witnessed the past two seasons.
We've seen Uche Ebo, Nick Coopla and Noah Cryns all rush for over 100 yards on the ground this year, with Cryns piling up 140 in the teams win over Gonzales.
We've watched Sam Fenstermaker return an interception for a pick six, Foster Smith dominate the front line on defense.
I still believe the defense is the heart of Pacific Grove in its bit to repeat the feat. Yet, when you've scored 40 or more points three times, the offense is holding its own.
