Monte Vista-Alvarez football

Friday's game
Monte Vista (4-0) at Alvarez (3-2), 7:30 p.m.
The unbeaten Mustangs are a mystery, having gone out of the section and state to pick up a couple of wins.
What's not a secret is Monte Vista's defense, which has allowed just 26 points in four games, none in the third quarter.
Monte Vista's last stop in the Gabilan Division in 2013 didn't go well as it was just 1-5. Depth could be an issue for the reigning CCS Division IV finalists in a more physical league.
The Eagles have shaken off sluggish starts in each of their last two games to turn games in doubt into routes.
Alan Camel-Edwards has been a difference maker for Alvarez in the last two games, producing four  touchdowns, returning a kickoff 81 yards two weeks ago.
Alvarez is averaging 36 points a game in its three wins, but is allowing 33 points a game in its two losses.
