Marina-Carmel football

Saturday's game
Marina (2-3) at Carmel (3-2), 2 p.m.
 Who makes these schedules?
The Padres are playing their fourth of a stretch of five consecutive home games while Marina is on the road for the first time this year.
Either way the teams are going in opposite directions as Carmel has won its last two games while the Mariners are in a two-game losing streak.
The Padres defense - yes the defense - rescued the team last week, helping the offense overcome six turnovers by holding Stevenson without a touchdown until the final minute of the game.
More than 80 percent of quarterback Jonathan Hugo's completions have gone to either John Stivers or Sam Snowden.
The status of tailback Covossay Windham may not be known until today. The junior suffered a knee injury in last Friday's game and had an MRI done on Tuesday.
Since erupting for a school record 57 points, the Mariners have given up 41 and 42 points in the last games.
E.J. Jennings has either thrown, rushed or caught a touchdown for Marina. He has also picked up a fumble and returned it for six.
