King City-Catalina volleyball

Tuesday's game
King City (19-4) at Santa Catalina (12-2), 6:30 p.m.
It's not so much about redemption as it is respect for King City.
No one talks about the Mustangs.
Yet, the program is 19-4 this season, tied for the most wins in the tri-region area.
Of course, one of those setbacks for the tri-Mission Trail Athletic League leading Mustangs was administered by Santa Catalina, who they visit tonight.
The Cougars went down to south county and beat King City in four games -- a statement match for Santa Catalina.
Ironically the only challenges both teams have faced since that first battle in the MTAL came from reigning league champion Carmel -- both of which went five games with different results.
The Mustangs ended the Padres run of 20 straight league match wins while Carmel knocked Santa Catalina from the unbeaten ranks in the MTAL.
Marlene Morales and Grace Shepherd have both compiled over 100 kills this season for King City while Aly Carroll has been a menace in the middle.
The Cougars strength is their balance, starting with McKinley Fox, who leads the team in assists and is among the team leaders in kills, along with Lauren Garcia.
No team plays better defense on the floor than the Cougars sister act of Tatumn and Olivia Satow.
