With 2,131 passing yards through seven games, Justyn Gutierrez could throw for 3,000 yards this fall for the undefeated Panthers.
The former North Salinas High standout has tossed just six interceptions in 247 attempts, throwing 25 touchdown passes.
Ronnie Turner is chasing a second straight 1,000 yard receiving season with 755 yards, averaging 108 yards a game. Eppy Henriquez and Turner have a combined 17 touchdowns catches.
Marcus Washington has given the running game a shot in the arm since his return after being hit by a car and missing two games. He is also being used as a receiver out of the backfield.
Defensively, Salinas grad Justin Pleasont has been a beast with a team high 42 tackles while Reggie McGee has compiled 10 sacks coming off the edge.
While Hartnell's defense has created just 12 turnovers -- three apiece from Tymetrius Richburg and Michael Resendez, it has 40 sacks and 25 pass breakups.
Former Monterey High receiver Ryan Reynolds has been a bright spot for the Rams with a team high 24 catches and two touchdowns.
Gavilan has struggled defensively, having given up 40 or more points five times. Offensively, it has been held without a touchdown twice.
