Friday's game
Gonzales (3-2) at Greenfield (1-4), 7:30 p.m.
For what ever reason, the Spartans have struggled to score points at home, totaling 19 in two home games, as opposed to averaging 39 points a game in three roadies.
Gonzales is back in its comfort zone, returning to the road for the next two weeks, in what become playoff type games for them as both teams enter the second half of the season.
Don't sleep on a Bruins squad, which has lead in four of its five games this year. The second halves have been a struggle for a team that doesn't have a lot of depth, having been outscored 47-12.
The biggest difference during a two-game losing streak for Gonzales has been mistakes, as it has turned the ball over eight times.
Quarterback Logan Gomez, who has accounted for over 1,100 passing and rushing yards this year for the Spartans, can't be running for his life on each snap.
With the exception of one game, Gonzales' defense has played well, as Ryan Avila is on pace for over 100 tackles while Isaac Madrigal has been a demon as a pass rusher.
Mistakes have been critical for Greenfield in two losses, as a missed extra point was the difference in a one-point loss to King City, while 11 fumbles shut them down in a seven-point loss to Pajaro.
