Carmel-King City volleyball

Thursday's match
Carmel at King City, 6:30 p.m.
Home is suppose to be the Mustangs domain. Yet, both losses this year have occurred on their home floor.
Granted, the two setbacks were to two talented teams.
Now comes defending Mission Trail Athletic League champion Carmel, who appears to have found the right combinations on the court with nine straight wins.
The two teams did meet earlier this year in a tournament with King City defeating the Padres in two games.
Yet, in MTAL play Carmel has overcome the treacherous drive to south county to win the last two matches with the Mustangs.
The Padres come at you with Megan Gonzalez having divided her time between the net and setters position, leading the team in both categories.
When Gonzalez has set, Hana Nystrom has taken command at the net. When she's in the front row, Alex Weber has fed her precise passes. Lauren Salvati has been a rock in the back row.
Marlene Morales is one of the more complete players in the MTAL, leading the Mustangs in kills and digs. Grace Shepherd has been a force at the net along with Natalie Robinson.
