Friday's game
Alisal (3-5) at Watsonville (2-5), 7:30 p.m.
While the playoffs become a long shot for Alisal, it can still reach the .500 plateau. In addition, one more win matches its entire win total from the previous two years combine.
The Trojans are familiar with Friday's setting, already having beaten Pajaro 26-12 at Watsonville on Oct. 3.
Watsonville has held leads in the first half in five of its seven games this year, but has managed just one touchdown in the third quarter all season.
Don't expect Watsonville to come out winging it. Three quarterbacks have completed 16 passes all season -- combined.
Daniel Olivarez and Ryan Roberts have produced eight of the Wildcatz's 13 touchdowns this season -- all on the ground
More touches for David Valencia might be in order for Alisal while Javion Macias and Jafet Maciel are difference makers with the ball in their hands.
