Friday's game
Seaside (2-1) at Scotts Valley (1-2), 7 p.m.
The momentum established in arguably its biggest regular season win in a decade is compounded by the mental letdown that often occurs after a battle with its biggest rival in Monterey.
An emotional game is draining, particularly one that goes into overtime and ends on the games final play.
Seaside, who won just one game last year, has rattled off two straight behind an improved offense and a punishing defense that seems to get better as the game wears on.
The Falcons will return to earth this week as well after playing in the 49ers Levi Stadium last week in a 7-0 win over Watsonville.
Nick Reyes has thrown for 372 yards and four touchdowns for Scotts Valley while Tony Menna has rushed for nearly 300 yards.
Keishawn Robinson has been the heart of Seaside's offense, having rushed for nearly 200 yards two weeks ago.
Yet, it was quarterback Jesse Morales tossing a game tying touchdown pass, then running in the two-point conversation in overtime to give them the win last week.
